Master of Applied Computer Science

Students should be able to:

  • Evaluate and adapt software development tools, software systems and modern computing platforms to a given problem.
  • Describe a real-world problem so that it can be addressed computationally.
  • Apply reasoning, problem-solving and technical skills to solve a problem with minimal guidance.
  • Manage a substantial computing project from design to implementation.
  • Identify and eliminate security risks in databases, networks, web applications and the cloud.
  • Implement effective data mining algorithms, as well as data visualization techniques.
  • Describe the architecture and data transmission protocols of the internet.
  • Independently learn advanced computing subtopics.
  • Successfully collaborate on team projects.
