A number of awards in three hundred dollar increments are available for the alumni of Saint Xavier University who have completed and undergraduate degree and who apply to a graduate program in the School of Education. This award may be used toward payment of the tuition of the second semester of the program in which they are enrolled.

The Dorothy Ritter Davis Scholarship is open to admitted undergraduate and graduate students in the School of Education with a grade point average of 3.0 or higher. This scholarship, which is approximately $6,000, is funded by a donation from the late Dorothy Ritter Davis, class of 1933. For more information, contact Mary Coffey in the School of Education.
The Elaine Gallagher Science Scholarship is open to admitted undergraduate and graduate students in the School of Education who are science majors in secondary education or students in early childhood or elementary education who may teach science at any level. This scholarship is funded by a donation from the estate of alumna Elaine Gallagher and gifts given in her memory. The award will be approximately $1,600. The Lloyd Leake Scholarship is open to undergraduate African-American students in the School of Education. This scholarship is funded by the family of the late Dr. Lloyd Leake, former Dean of the School of Education. The scholarship is valued at approximately $2,000. The Dorothy Binder Scholarship is open to admitted graduate students in the School of Education. This scholarship is funded by donations in honor of the late Dr. Dorothy Binder, former School of Education faculty member. The award will be approximately $1,300. The Julius and Catherine Heerey Malin Scholarship is open to admitted School of Education undergraduate or graduate students with a grade point average of 2.8 or higher. This scholarship is funded by the estate of the late Ms. Helen Heerey, in honor of Julius and Catherine Heerey Malin. The award will be approximately $2,000. The George and Eunice McGuire Scholarship is open to undergraduate and graduate students in the School of Education. This scholarship is funded by the estate of the late Dr. and Mrs. McGuire. The Dr. George McGuire Award recognizes an alumnus for distinguished service to Saint Xavier University and the field of education. In addition, a $100 gift certificate to the SXU Bookstore is presented to an undergraduate student who exemplifies the qualities of Dr. McGuire.
The Sister Mary Dominic Merwick Outstanding Undergraduate Student Award recognizes an undergraduate student of high academic achievement, exemplary student teaching, and service to education.
The Sister M. Irenaeus Chekouras Outstanding Graduate Student Award recognizes a graduate student of high academic achievement, service to education, and outstanding contribution to scholarship, based on excellence in writing as evidenced by a research project or other scholarly paper.
