Your best advice about getting admitted and enrolling in college...
My best advice would be to take your time. Choosing where to go to college is a major decision. It's important to consider the size, location, academic programs, cost, student life, etc., that each college or university offers. The best way to get a feel if the school is right for you is by visiting. Taking a tour of the campus and getting to speak with current students or faculty can be extremely beneficial when choosing your school. The next four years are going to be some of the best years of your life. You need to make sure that you're somewhere you feel comfortable to open up your mind and heart to new ideas and experiences.
What makes SXU different from other universities?
At SXU, every student has a name. You're not just a number in a giant lecture hall. Students are recognized for their ideas and accomplishments not only in the classroom, but throughout campus as well. Our small class sizes give students the opportunity to have in-depth discussions, ask questions, and get to know their professor. At SXU, you will never be taught by anyone other than your professor. They are truly committed to helping their student succeed.
If you could travel anywhere in the world, where would it be?
If I could travel anywhere in the world I would go to Italy. I would love to have the opportunity to see where my father and his siblings grew up.
Favorite day of the week and why?
Sunday is by far my favorite day of the week. It's the one day where there is time to just relax. The week can be very hectic, so its nice to get a chance to slow down and spend time with the people I love.
What is your favorite season in Chicago? Why?
My favorite season in Chicago is fall. Walking around the city in the crisp fall weather is one of my favorite things to do. I love seeing the colors of the leaves change. Its also the perfect time of year to go apple picking and carve pumpkins.
Why do you like your job?
Every day I get the chance to meet new people and help them decide if SXU is the right school for them. Its rewarding to be able to help people make such a big decision. I get to share my own experiences from when I was a student here and tell students what I love most about the university. I also enjoy my colleagues. Our admission staff is made up of a great group of talented individuals. Everyone genuinely cares about one another. Bottom line, I love my job.
