Federal TEACH Grant Program
The Teacher Education Assistance for College and Higher Education (TEACH) Grant Program provides grants of up to $4,000 per year to students who agree to teach for four years in an elementary school, secondary school, or educational service agency that serves low-income families in a high need field (as determined by the Federal Department of Education), among other requirements. Federal Direct Stafford Loans
Federal Direct Unsubsidized Stafford Loans are available to assist in meeting the educational costs of those students who submit the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA), available at www.fafsa.gov. Payments on Unsubsidized Stafford loans are not required while enrolled in school at least half-time or during the six-month grace period following graduation. Interest begins to accrue at the time of loan disbursement. For more information, visit www.studentloans.gov.
Federal Student Loan Forgiveness Policy for Teachers
If you teach full-time for five complete and consecutive academic years in certain elementary schools, secondary schools, and educational service agencies that serve low-income families, and meet other qualifications, you may be eligible for forgiveness of up to a combined total of $17,500 on select loans. Troops to Teachers
Illinois Troops to Teachers assists eligible military personnel transitioning to a
new career as public school teachers. Regardless of where a military career takes
a participant while with the program, offices nationwide have been established to
provide individuals with counseling and assistance regarding certification requirements,

Minority Teachers of Illinois (MTI) Scholarship
Funds from this program may be used to pay for tuition, fees and room and board, or commuter allowances, if applicable. This scholarship may be received for a maximum of the equivalent of four academic years (eight semesters or 12 quarters) of full-time enrollment.

Tuition Payment Plan
Tuition payment plans are available through the Office of the Bursar using Tuition Management Systems, allowing students to spread tuition payments over 5-10 equal monthly payments. Visit the Payment Plans website for more information or to enroll.
Students whose employer is paying, or reimbursing, all or part of their tuition costs may be eligible for delayed tuition payments until payment is remitted by the employer. Additionally, for your convenience, the Office of the Bursar will directly bill those employers who pay the University directly. School of Education Scholarships
The Saint Xavier University School of Education provides tuition grants for eligible graduate students. Additionally, other School of Education Scholarships have been made available through generous donations from friends of the School of Education.
