What is the BIGGEST LOSER Challenge?

The Shannon Center's BIGGEST LOSER Challenge is an eight-week fitness challenge designed to help participants:

  1. Lose weight
  2. Make healthy lifestyle changes
  3. Have fun and get fit
  4. Maintain weight loss

Participants will do an initial weigh-in at the Shannon Center at the beginning of the BIGGEST LOSER challenge followed by weekly weigh-ins that are done at home and will be recorded online. The final weigh-in will take place at the Shannon Center and will also be recorded online. Additional information will also be provided to participants on the Shannon Center's BIGGEST LOSER website.

Who will be the BIGGEST LOSER?

The BIGGEST LOSER will be determined by the greatest percentage of body weight lost at the end of the 8-week challenge. The top five participants with the greatest percentage of body weight loss will be named BIGGEST LOSER winners. The winners will receive cash prizes:

Step Up To Shape Up

This six-week fitness challenge is for all SXU faculty, staff, students and Shannon Center members looking to reach summer fitness goals. This challenge incorporates weekly cardio and strength training workouts. Participants will be given access to the online site, where they will track their weekly progress. Participants who complete the entire six-week challenge will receive an exclusive t-shirt!

Cost: $10 per person
