Discover Chicago
If you are a Saint Xavier student, you know all the exciting things the University offers. Being just a short distance from downtown Chicago, Saint Xavier also provides its students rich cultural and entertainment opportunities through the Discover Chicago program. These events are available (and include transportation) for free or at a very low cost to students who want to experience all that Chicago has to offer. Examples of Discover Chicago programs include a day trip to the Art Institute of Chicago, experiencing a Chicago Bulls game and ice skating in Millennium Park (to name just a few!).
There are two main sections to our Discover Chicago Web pages:
You can also learn more about Chicago attractions and getting around the city:
- Metromix and Citysearch provide information on Chicago attractions, restaurants, neighborhoods, and upcoming events
- The Chicago Transit Authority (CTA) Web site
- Metra commuter rail service, with their Rock Island train serving the community near SXU
- Pace suburban bus service
- Use the Regional Transportation Authority (RTA) Trip Planner to plan your trip to locations throughout the city and suburbs
