Jean Riordan is the director of Career Services at Saint Xavier University.  She has a master’s degree in counseling psychology. Her professional background includes 15 years counseling and advising undergraduate, graduate, and adult college students and alumni on career and job search related issues. Her primary focus centers on helping students identify life long career exploration strategies that can move them through the many job, career and personal changes that they will experience throughout their professional lives. 

In addition to her career counseling and administration background, Jean has taught courses in Lifestyle and Career Development, and Introductory Counseling Techniques courses on the graduate level, as well as courses for first year students on transitioning to college life and recovering from academic probation.

Lee Cruz is an assistant director of Career Services. He holds a master's degree in business administration/marketing. He has worked in career development for nearly 15 years. He advises students and alumni on aspects of exploring majors and careers, pursuing internship and career opportunities, and applying for graduate and professional school. In addition, Lee has served in leadership roles for local career services professional associations. 

Lee has conducted presentations on resume writing and interviewing skills at a national conference for graduate students. He has also taught courses for freshmen on the transition to college life at Saint Xavier University. 

Mary Fitzpatrick is an assistant director in Career Services at Saint Xavier University. She has a master of business administration from Saint Xavier with an emphasis in employee training and workplace learning. She currently works with students and alumni in all facets of career development including interview, job search, networking and resume writing skills, as well as exploring career values and goals.

Mary has taught undergraduate courses in career development and exploration as well as courses for first year students transitioning to college life.

Jodi Martin is an assistant director of Career Services at Saint Xavier University. She has a bachelor’s degree in psychology and a minor in business. She has been a part of the Career Services team at SXU for 13 years, providing counseling and advising to current student and alumni on career and job search related issues.  She enjoys meeting with both undergraduate and graduate students as they explore and pursue their future aspirations and encourages internship related experiences throughout their college life. 

Prior to working in higher education, Jodi worked in the social service and the human resource industries.

Mary Lu Wasniewski is an assistant director of Career Services. She holds a master’s degree in counseling from Saint Xavier University and is a licensed professional counselor. Her professional background includes 25 years of experience in career services offices here and at the University of Illinois at Chicago. 

Her primary focus is working with undecided students on major and career choice, as well as working with students and alumni pursuing part time, internship and full-time positions.  She also develops resources and programs on career exploration topics.
