The Mission Continues: Empowering post-9/11 veterans to transition from the military to leadership positions here at home. The Mission Continues awards community service fellowships to post-9/11 veterans, empowering them to transform their own lives by serving others and directly impacting their communities. Fellows serve for six months at a local non-profit organization addressing educational, environmental or social issues.
The post fellowship goal is to secure full-time employment and/or pursuit of higher education, while maintaining a permanent role of public service. For more information, visit The Mission Continues website.
Heroes Get Hired E-Book: Heroes Get Hired is an e-book designed to help veterans master the job interview. Author Michelle Tillis Lederman addresses the particular issues, questions, fears and mental roadblocks that you as a veteran may encounter as you re-enter the civilian workforce and how you can overcome these challenges to acquire the skills you need to excel at the interview process. Featuring contributions from IAVA and MSCCN, this free book sheds light on the specific strengths and competitive advantages that you as a veteran bring to the civilian workforce and how you can make sure to communicate these qualities to a recruiter or potential employer.
SVA-Google Scholarship: Student Veterans of America and Google are recognizing student veterans who have a
passion for computer science and technology. They are offering eight $10,000 scholarships to undergraduate or graduate students enrolled in computer science, computer engineering

Blue Star Spouse Networks Launch: The Blue Star Spouse Networks is a place for all military spouse professionals to share professional information, network and get the scoop on state licensing requirements across the country. The Blue Star Spouse Networks is partnering with Hiring Our Heroes to launch peer-to-peer spouse networks for educators, health care professionals and entrepreneurs.

VetNet on Google+: In collaboration with veteran NGO's such as Hire Heroes USA, Hiring Our Heroes and Syracuse University's Institute for Veterans and Military Families, Google has launched VetNet on Google+ to link veterans with civilian jobs and resources. By logging in, veterans can connect with resources and videos to help with job search, career networking and entrepreneurial interests.

Illinois Department of Veteran Affairs
The Illinois Department of Veteran Affairs (ILDVA) assists veterans in navigating the system of federal, state and local resources and benefits, and partners with other agencies and non-profits to help veterans address education, mental health, housing, employment and other challenges.
United States Department of Veterans Affairs
The GI Bill website helps veterans compare and understand education benefits. From this site, veterans can apply for their education benefits.
American Council on Education
Credit for military is evaluated and awarded in accordance with the recommendations of the American Council on Education (ACE) when appropriate to the student's curriculum. Veterans can request military transcripts through ACE.
Through the Scholarship Search Finder, students can find scholarships and grants exclusively for the military community.
Operation Homefront informs National Guard members and reservists about local, state and national resources.
Iraq and Afghanistan Veterans of America (IAVA)
IAVA is the largest non-profit organization for Iraq and Afghanistan veterans. IAVA assists veterans and their families in health, education, employment and community.
