Jorge Arevalo

Jorge Arévalo

Project Manager for Accreditation, Assessment and Development

Jorge Arevalo joined the School of Education at Saint Xavier University in 2008. He is the project manager for Accreditation, Assessment and Development for the School of Education. He oversees the Unit Assessment System and accreditation and reporting efforts through data collection and program continuous improvement. In addition, he provides instructional assistance to both students and faculty in the use of LiveText, our electronic portfolio and assessment system. Jorge received his Bachelor of Science in Information Systems Engineering from the University of El Salvador in 2005, an MBA from Southern Illinois University in 2007, and Project Management certificate from Saint Xavier University in 2009.

Licensure Officer

In April 2015, Beth joined the School of Education in the position of licensure officer after spending eight years in the Records and Advising Office. She received her Bachelor of Science degree from Illinois State University in Public Relations in 2002 and is currently pursuing her MBA in Management at Saint Xavier University. She is responsible to ensure the School of Education adheres to licensure and endorsement requirements, serves as the entitlement officer, oversees program compliance with ISBE, serves as a liaison between the institution and ISBE licensure staff, and informs staff of ISBE program changes or other major institutional changes that may affect preparation programs in the School of Education. Beth is dedicated to ensure the success of students by assisting them as they seek Licensure.

Jane Lundin

Director of School Partnerships

Jane has been a member of Saint Xavier University faculty/staff since August 2007. Prior to joining Saint Xavier University, she served as an administrator, teacher and curriculum facilitator in Orland School District 135. Jane has a Master of Science in Education degree from National Louis University (1980) and Education Administration Certification (Type 75) from Saint Xavier University (1994).

As Director of School Partnerships, Jane ensures that effective partnerships and high-quality clinical practice are central to School of Education teacher preparation programs so that candidates develop the knowledge, skills, and professional dispositions necessary to demonstrate positive impact on all P-12 students' learning and development.

 

Joan Motisi

Joan Motisi

Assistant to Program Chairs and Faculty

Since joining the School of Education in 2011, Joan works with students facilitating the education of graduate students in the School of Education for the Administration and Leadership, Counseling, Early Childhood, Educational Technology/iSTEM, Reading, and Teaching and Leadership programs. Once a graduate student is admitted to above-referenced graduate programs, she completes the admission process and appropriate coding for financial and academic data processing. She also assists the program chairs in overseeing the progression of graduate students through the master degree requirements. Joan also supports faculty with offices in Driehaus East, manages the Stem and 3919 Classrooms schedule and materials, and assists in maintaining the graduate student database for the School of Education. Joan has a Bachelor of Arts degree from Roosevelt University and has completed graduate coursework in Instructional Design and Technology from Western Illinois University.

Secretary of School Partnerships

Lydia joined Saint Xavier University as a part-time secretary in the School of Education in 2006. She enjoys her current full-time position of School of Education secretary of School Partnerships, working with CPS and area schools to secure field experience placements for teacher candidates and student teachers.

Debbie Strubin

Assistant to Program Chairs and Faculty

Debbie started with the School of Education in July of 2004. Currently, she works with the associate dean in facilitating the education of graduate students in the School of Education for the Elementary Education, Special Education, Secondary Education, ESL/TESOL and Curriculum and Instruction programs. Once a graduate student is admitted to above-referenced graduate programs, she completes the admission process and appropriate coding for financial and academic data processing. She also assists the program chairs in overseeing the progression of students through licensure and the master degree requirements. Debbie received her Bachelor of Arts degree from Saint Xavier University.
