Fall 2015 Concerts

Tickets can be purchased at the door and pricing is free for all SXU students, faculty and staff with a current ID. General admission is $6 and admission for senior citizens, visiting students and members of the military is $5. This is the standard cost for all concerts, unless listed as otherwise.

Guitarists of all ages are welcome to join us for the 2nd Annual SXU Guitar Workshop Day at Saint Xavier University.

This year's workshop topic is: "Jazz Chord Voicing and Chord-Melody Arranging Techniques for the Jazz Guitarist."

The Symphony Orchestra's program will include orchestral favorites by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, Joseph Haydn and George Frideric Handel, but will also feature some lesser-known repertoire by American composer Normal Dello Joio and English composer Fredrick Delius. The concert will conclude with Richard Wagner's dramatic and exciting Overture to Rienzi.

Featuring SXU students as well as members of the SXU Flute Choir and pianist Daniel Surma.

The program includes favorite pieces played by students, community members and faculty. Some of this fall’s selections include Claude Debussy's Syrinx for solo flute, Cecile Chaminade's beloved Concertino, and a flute and oboe duet by Madeleine Dring.

Saint Xavier University's Christmas concert will include performances from the entire Department of Music. Performing groups will include the Wind Ensemble, Jazz Ensemble, Chorale and Chamber Singers, as well as variety of chamber ensembles. Repertoire will include contemporary works as well as standards, and will also feature audience sing-a-longs for the whole family to enjoy!
